After purchase, you will receive an email automatically with the “Next Steps” to get start with registering your license. You will be eligible for registration within the next 6 months after purchase.
Unregistered licenses will be forfeit after 6 months, as we cannot maintain inventory records of unclaimed licenses indefinitely. Please be sure to just register your software, we want you to use it!
Lite: Download OEM calibration, flash new files, read DTC’s, record datalogs. Locked to one VIN.
Personal: All Lite features, PLUS editing access to a selection of pre-defined 3D, 2D, and 1D tables. Locked to one VIN.
Personal Upgrade: Upgrade your existing Lite license to the Personal version. You MUST already own MazdaEdit Lite, or be purchasing a tuning kit that includes a MazdaEdit Lite license.
Neither license is suitable for self tuning your turbo-charged applications. This requires our Turbo Tuning Kit.
MazdaEdit requires an OBDX VX or Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 in order to communicate with your ECU. No other OBD2 Port cables are supported by MazdaEdit.
Since Tactrix has effectively gone out of business and has not sold any OpenPort cables since early 2025, we have worked with MazdaEdit and OBDX to add the OBDX VX cable to MazdaEdit support. However, the OBDX cable is not compatible with the RX-8, a dedicated solution is coming soon.
We sell the MazdaEdit license and an OBDX VX cable as a kit with all of our Tier 1 and 2 Custom Tuning Kits.
